Peking O
"Peking O" is the title of a composition by the avant-garde, krautrock musical group Can. It resides on the final side of their 1971 double album, Tago Mago. Clocking in at a lengthy 11:37, "Peking O" explores a range of sonic fluctuation, including melodies inspired by Chinese themes, organ rhythm boxes, and jazz-inflected breaks[1], with each band member contributing evenly to the smorgasbord of sounds. Following "Aumgn" in the flow of the album, "Peking O" actually brings things slightly back into focus, preceding "Bring Me Coffee or Tea," which closes the album in an orderly manner. "Peking O" is notable for being one of the more freeform compositions by Can, featuring gibberish-like ramblings from singer Damo Suzuki in the middle.
